Knowing this and that I trusted you implicitly enabled you to carry on with your carefully crafted plan to destroy me. The extensive brief you prepared and presented to the doctors at a Toronto hospital would have done many a lawyer proud and at first the lies you vocally and in writing expressed to the doctors and the staff at the meetings at the hospital that appeared credible.

Until the last meeting referred to hereafter when your credibility was seriously questioned by them because of your actions and all you said.

You were driving me to attend a meeting in September when I noticed you were not driving in the direction of the meeting address. You claimed that I was ill and you were driving me to a hospital. I finally managed to extract myself from the car and was walking to take the subway.

Then I was apprehended by the police who took me back to our home after you had told them I had a gun there. You showed them were it was and knew the gun was about 30 years old-that it had been legally bought then for my son.

The police seized it but did not charge me with a crime after hearing the circumstances. My memory is vague as to what took place thereafter but I then realized this was part of the plan that you had conceived to take me off the track of the money I referred to above.

Your heinous plan was carefully constructed and you did your utmost to carry it out as further set out hereafter but it failed.

You falsely had me arrested on about five occasions and had me incarcerated in the psychiatric word of the and again each time lied to the doctors verbally and provided them with letters you had prepared or assisted in their preparation by others on my staff.

You also sent emails as well verbally advised others that I would never recover from your allegations that I was permanently mentally ill and that you intended to have me committed to a nursing home-permanently, knowing full well what would happen to me if you had succeeded.

At the last meeting with the doctors and other at the hospital I offered you virtually everything you wanted-with a caveat. You then shouted to all that I was again threatening you and stormed out of the meeting. Your actions then revealed to all present the act, the lies and the charade you were carrying out in your intent to destroy.

You have tried to take over my business without me and had agreed to hire staff to assist you. You also falsely advised customers reasons as my absence-verbally and by email.

After you failed in your heinous efforts you then wrote others advising them I had lost my memory-again your effort to destroy me and my business although you were also advised by others not to do so.

You left the files of clients in a hideous, unrecognizable and disorganized mess.

Your actions then revealed to all present the act, the lies and the charade you were carrying out in your intent and efforts to destroy me.

In other words you intended to destroy me but you left a lengthy trail of highly incriminating evidence.

After a lengthy and expensive investigation I found that you had written and signed cheques by yourself to yourself and on your behalf as well as for your credit cards expenses without my knowledge or consent totalling about $200,000.00 including a cheque to yourself for “severance pay” notwithstanding your agreement to obtain my approval and consent for all cheques you wrote and signed.

You also never returned the car and two computers you took from the business despite my request you had no obtained my consent to do so.

You were also paid a salary of $35,000.00 yearly in addition to an expense account of $500.00 weekly totalling about $26,000.00 yearly. This may be well in excess of the $200,000.00

When I returned to work in November there was only about $19,000.00 left in the business account whereas it was had usually much more. This left the business in precarious shape due to your efforts to sabotage everything.

In December you also used one of my credit cards to pay your lawyer over US$4100.00 without my knowledge or permission.At the time you had about $160,000.00 in your bank account plus about $40,000.00 in pensions.

The aforesaid was in your Nova Scotia accounts plus the credit you had available through the credit cards you obtained while employed by the business. You may also have other bank accounts that are unknown to me. You earned a salary of $35,000.00 yearly from the firm plus $500.00 weekly that you drew for alleged expenses. Taking into account what you earned how were you able to accumulate $160,000.00 or more that I did not know about?

All of your actions have seriously prejudiced the business and especially the money you paid to yourself or on your behalf as set out above. Because of your actions many clients have been lost and it was essential I cut back on virtually everything.

Simply put I want you to reimburse the firm for the money you took and this will end the matter. If you deign not to do so immediately I will vigorously pursue all legal actions open to me.

You are liable for not declaring income or paying taxes to CRA and are liable for criminal prosecution and huge fines. You can be also charged with fraud and embezzlement.

You did everything in your power to destroy me and my business but failed. The courts will now decide your fate." What’s more the aggressor spouse is often arrested and taken to jail, held for some time in a cell for several hours and even overnight or longer before he or she may be released on bail.

Then he or she will be required to be in court to set a date for a trial-at which they may be convicted and face penalties from fines to time in jail.

There is a zero tolerance policy for threatening and/or assault by one spouse of the other even though the ultimate penalty was not contemplated let alone desired by either one, especially the spouse who was threatened or worse.

Now the problem becomes much more serious and expensive because the spouse who was charged by the police must retain a criminal lawyer to defend him or her. It does not matter whether it was the husband or wife who has been charged.

The charged spouse could even end up with a criminal record. And if the assault was sexual in nature, the charged spouse’s name will forever be listed in the registry of sex offenders-even if the charge is withdrawn, dismissed and even if the charged person was found not guilty at a trial.

As a lawyer who also practices criminal and family law I have found such criminal charges are increasing rapidly in frequency. I have been successful the vast majority of the time in most charge dismissed or withdrawn by the Crown attorney especially if a peace bond is put up and signed by the spouse that was charged, depending on the nature and seriousness of the crime.

Furthermore if the charge is of a sexual nature and even if the crown withdraws or dismisses the charge or the court finds the aggressor innocent, your name is forever thereafter listed in the registry of sexual offenders.
